Galway businesses and organisations were well represented at the press event in the Eyre Square Centre on Monday when Mayor Pearce Flannery launched Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2018. The Gradam is now officially open for nominations until Monday February 23.

The Eyre Square Centre was the overall winner of Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2017.

‘Architecture at the Edge’ festival symposium to generate creative discourse about public spaces

A keynote event on the first day of the inaugural Architecture at the Edge festival will provide an opportunity for architects, planners, designers, creatives and local communities to talk about the shape of our built environment. The half day symposium entitled ‘Placemaking’ will be held on Friday 29th September at the O’Donoghue Centre NUI, Galway. What makes a great place to live? Mayor Noel Larkin, will announce the finalists of Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh 2017 at 11.30 am, next Tuesday, April 11 at a press event which will take place in the Eyre Square Centre, Galway. Last month, Gaillimh le Gaeilge, which has been running the Gradam for the past 15 years in association with the Galway Advertiser, unveiled the 18 businesses in Galway city that have put themselves forward for this year’s award.
